This is officially a nature reserve and bird sanctuary. Sits between the DART Line and Rock Road. Good place for bird watching. Full review by StephenCr0ss
I am out to catch some shots of the Kingfisher, I have never seen one. I would like to know is there a spot in which the kingfisher stays, in other words where in the Bird Sanctuary would I find it and is there car parking.

Hello Anytime I spotted the Kingfisher there, it was on the right side of the little bridge there, approaching the car park and facing the dart station. This is the approach to Blackrock and its local park and martello tower. Along there, that's where I spotted Kingfishers. To be honest though if you have time try along the Dodder, between Bushy and Miltown, particularly before you come to the weir on the way down to Churchtown. Be patient and wait for them, on a sunny day, its easier to spot them as their plumage glows ln the sun, like electric blue! I also have spotted a Kingfisher nest in Marlay park, at the larger pond, where there is a small board walk, to the right of it, in the corner, look towards the water where huge aquatic plants jut out, I've counted at least 5 of them and seen them on several occasions recently. Worth a try. By the way, if you like Otters, the Dodder is superb apparently for watching them, around the little bridge at the back of the High school at around 9 and after that is a tip, I've been told.
