The Town of Gate City lies in the mountains of Southwest Virginia, an area rich in both Pioneer and Native American history. With a population of 2,034, the Gate City is seat of Scott County’s government, and was founded and still is the principal gateway from Tennessee through Virginia to Kentucky.
