Sanborn is a city in O'Brien County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,392 at the time of the 2020 census. Sanborn got its start in the year 1871, following construction of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway through that territory. It was named for George W. Sanborn, the railroad president. Sanborn was incorporated as a town in 1880.
