I don't know about a service dog, but I do know there is a deep one step down over the lip of the entrance of the schooner.The Captain has made a wide "step" to make the distance between the dock and down into the schooner. If one has balance issues, they would need assistance from the crew, which I'm sure they would be willing to do. Also, as I remember, the dock to the schooner was downhill slightly. Best to check on all issues directly by calling, though.
