This was a treat. Visited with my cousin toward the end of the day and ended up having somewhat of a personal tour by our friendly tour guide Brian, who was an absolute legend. I believe he hadn't ev…Full review by Cai W

Great tour and guide. Beautiful cavern. The stairs with railings and viewing platforms made it very easy and safe for my senior semi unsteadiness. Beautiful. Large variety of formations including the…Full review by S0520

The interior of the caverns is very interesting and the guide (Phil) was very knowledgeable. It's a pretty easy walk through the cave, and climbing out isn't bad at all — assuming a few flights of s…Full review by ElaineH2092

Yes. They should be fine. There are two places to park. One is right by the visitor's center (it is a small parking lot so it may fill fast) - and that one would be very safe. The other is down the road (you need to take a short hike to the visitor center) and is really just parking near big trees. But I would still say both are safe. People who are there are there to tour or hike the area. You don't get any weird people just walking around or passing by. But with that said, just make sure and not leave wallets or money and credit cards in the car. Carry a little fanny pack or something similar that won't get in your way but holds those valuables.
Q:
Are dogs welcome on the hiking trails?
A:
We came for the cavern experience and did not see any trails. There was a local dog in the parking lot where there are picnic tables. Sorry I don't have any more information.

You should do the tour in sturdy shoes (whether that's a sandal or a sneaker, up to you...). I say this only because the stairs are steep and not that deep, meaning you really need to get a hold of yourself on them. I will also say that the stairs are sturdy, and no one rushes anyone else as the tour sizes are manageable. My sister took a jacket; I did too, but found I didn't need it. The tour itself is pretty short. If it's hot outside, chances are you will not need a jacket; if it's cooler outside, I would say a light jacket or sweater is fine. The caveat: If you get cold in a movie theater or other inside spaces, you should take a sweater.
