This has to be one of the best hidden gems at a rest stop. Once on the trail the landscape becomes something resembling an alien planet. The lava formations are fascinating to look at.Full review by Reigo

This site is very spectacular, but do not expect the park to be user friendly. There is barbed wire fence around where you would have walked over to a picnic area. This site is approximately a 45-m…Full review by priyablue

This place is great if you can find it. It has no Visitor Center, no physical address and no signs. Hell's Half Acre actually straddles I 15 between mile markers 100 and 103. To get there, stop …Full review by Gordon A
Are there two "Hell Half Acres" in the area? I see the trip advisor address is I-15 at mile marker 101. According to an interstate mile marker website, mile marker 101 is in Blackfoot, way south of Idaho Falls. Someone mentioned Hwy 20 and referenced "west" of the city but it appears Hwy 20 comes into Idaho Falls from the East. I'll be driving through town, from Yellowstone, and was looking to plan a stop. Any help is appreciated--thank you!

Hell's Half Acre is the name of the trails on the lava flow, which cuts across US 20 and I-15 in the Snake River Valley. There are very short trails from both the northbound and southbound rest stops on I-15, about 15 miles south of Idaho Falls. There is a 20 mile trail from US 20, west of Idaho Falls. There is a link to BLM information about all of these if you use Google.
