Is there any place nearby where you can lock up your valuables if you are not taking a car to this area? I would really like to snorkel at this reef, but plan to bike from my hotel there.

No, not really. But I don’t think you need to worry about it. We were just there today. There were maybe 5-10 groups of people, maybe 2-4 in each group. Everyone was sharing tips & pointers about where to go, what they saw, etc. no one is after your stuff. Good luck, bring aqua shoes (avoid stepping in hidden sea urchin) and have a blast. -Ryan
Hello, Can you tell me where you obtain snorkeling gear? We are heading to TCI in December and want to snorkel this time (we didn't go on our first visit two years ago). Also, roughly how far out until you reach the reef? I've heard conflicting accounts. Thank you!!! Paul

Some hotels may let guests borrow snorkeling gear. We brought our own but discovered that our hotel, Royal West Indies, has gear available for free.
We are stopping in Grand Turks on a cruise ship and want to snorkel at Smith's Reef. I am wondering what is the best way to get there and how do I know where to go and access the beach.

I think you would be very hard pressed to travel from Grand Turk to Provo, where Smith's reef is located, and still have enough time to snorkel.
