Yes Monterey Bay would be way better wanted to go there but just too hard to get too.. we didn't have car. Sf Whale watching is good, at the moment there are whales but couldn't get close which I was disappointed with. We went on the 9am but they were half an hour late due to refueling of boat.. so 9.30am we left. We saw nothing else.. just a few whales from a distance wish it was more
Q:
Do the boats have an enclosed area and what are the dimensions of the boats?
A:
Yes, they do have an enclosed area if you like to sit inside. I am not sure about the dimension but its a decent size boat accommodating at least 25-30 people.

I don’t think it is really suitable for a baby. Obviously the baby is not going to get anything out of it from a whale-watching perspective, therefore the question is whether the parent or parents will be able to enjoy the experience with a babe-in-arms. Possibly..but also possibly not. We had almost perfect weather, no swell and no wind, clear skies and sun......but it was still quite cold out in the bay. If the weather is not so good you can always take the baby inside, but then there is no point going out on the boat in the first place.
