While the long-term effects of Wednesday’s 2,000-gallon oil spill in the Baltimore Harbor are unknown, the city’s jewel has seen much worse.

Many of the large pools of diesel fuel, noticeable by its distinct red color from dye, have been removed from Baltimore's harbor two days after a 2,000-gallon spill.

More than 100 personnel have been working around-the-clock to clean up Baltimore Harbor after 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into the harbor Wednesday after what officials said was an accidental overfill of diesel tanks that supply power for backup generators at Johns Hopkins facilities in East Baltimore.
