Moore last played on April 25 at home against Miami, but he first started to feel discomfort in his right hip a day earlier in Boston. Moore felt something off in his hip after singling off the Green Monster in the first inning of that game on April 24 and a few days later was placed on the 10-day injured list to give the hip time to rest.

The Mariners brought back their Gold Glove-winning utility player and optioned Samad Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma.
