Moon Lander Captures Eye-Watering Views Of Earth During Lunar Journey; Watch
Blue Ghost was launched by SpaceX on January 15 and it will spend 25 days in Earth orbit. The following four days after that will be spent in lunar transit before it enters the lunar orbit. It will spend 16 more days orbiting the Moon before attempting a landing in the Mare Crisium region.
Firefly’s Lunar Lander Captures Haunting Earth Eclipse From Space
On January 18, the team at Firefly carried out Blue Ghost’s first engine burn, firing up the lander’s thrusters and main engines in space for the first time. The engine burn brought the spacecraft closer to Earth in preparation for its upcoming maneuvers.

Still circling Earth, Firefly Aerospace’s lunar lander fired its thrusters Thursday to put it on a path to reach the moon in over a month. Dubbed Blue Ghost, the spacecraft beamed back photos and video of the Blue Marble, our planet. The Texas company released the images Friday.

Both NASA and Firefly Aerospace say Blue Ghost remains healthy as it prepares to make for lunar orbit sometime next month.
