Large-scale protests Saturday across Los Angeles in response to dozens of arrests Friday in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation prompted a threat from President Trump for a federal response to those protests.

U.S. immigration authorities have extended activity in Los Angeles area in the wake of protests at an federal detention facility and a police response that included tear gas, flash-bangs and the arrest of a union leader.

After federal immigration authorities arrested dozens of people across Los Angeles, protesters turned out to demand their release. Police in riot gear responded with tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.
