Iran has arrested dozens of people on suspicion of spying as fears grow in the Islamic Republic over the extent of its infiltration by Israel’s Mossad intelligence service.

Israel’s historic strike on Iran revealed years of Mossad activity inside the country, including hidden weapons, drones and assassinations of nuclear officials.

Speaking to The Media Line, MK Ram Ben Barak said that the Islamic Republic had plenty of chances to avoid this war. “We gave them time. So did the US. But Iran kept sprinting toward the bomb,” the former deputy Mossad chief said. “That left us with no choice but to hit back at their annihilation plan against Israel.”

In connection with the Israeli air campaign, the Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence service, has been operating on Iranian soil and targeting senior Iranian nuclear scientists and military officers in an attempt to shatter the Iranian military’s chain of command.

Since 2010, the Mossad – the cunning intelligence agency – has been linked to the assassinations of at least four other Iranian scientists.
