Real Madrid icon Luka Modric is close to a move to AC Milan, broadcasters Sky Sport Italia reported on Tuesday evening. According to the report, Milan sporting director Igli Tare has travelled to Modric's home country Croatia to reach a verbal agreement with the player.

The transfer window will close on Sept. 1, though a special window will be open in June to account for the Club World Cup

AC Milan concluded the 2024-25 season with an eighth-place finish in the Serie A table and the Supercoppa Italiana trophy. The Rossoneri are reported to be quite active in the ongoing transfer window to ensure a better run in the upcoming campaign.
