Jacob Wilson singled home the winning run in the 11th inning to give the Athletics a 7-6 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night in the opener of a three-game series between the top two teams in the AL West.

Seattle took the lead in the top of the 10th only to have the Athletics tie it in the bottom of the inning then win it in the 11th.

Like the Mariners, the A’s got off to a slow start this season, with their season-opening series split in Seattle followed up by a sweep at the hands of an NL team (in Oakland’s case, the Cubs).
