(CBS DETROIT) — A Detroit man will stand trial in the murder of missing 13-year-old Na'Ziyah Harris . Jarvis Butts, 42, of Detroit, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and child sexually abusive activity. Butts is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with Na'Ziyah.

On Jan. 8, 2025, a Detroit Police Department sergeant testified that the last person she contacted before going missing was Butts. She also testified Butts called his business partner while he was in jail to move a phone he allegedly hid in a car. Testimonies are expected to resume on Jan. 9, 2025, at 10 a.m.
