Long-running Australian soap opera Neighbours has been canceled once again. Deadline reports that Amazon has axed the series after Freevee rescued the show back in 2022 after UK network Channel 5 canceled it due to declining ratings.

Amazon axes Neighbours two years after throwing soap lifeline - Australian production house Fremantle Media failed to secure a renewed deal with Amazon.

The announcement came on Thursday (February 20), just two years since Amazon saved the series after it was dropped by the Aussie channel Network 10. Neighbours was originally canceled in 2022 after 37 seasons, only for Amazon to revive it months later on its streaming service Freevee.

The Neighbours have been sent packing, again. The Australian soap opera has been cancelled at Amazon, nearly three years after it was “saved” by the streamer’s Freevee hub, according to an announcement made on the series’ X account.
