The 125th U.S. Open is taking place this week outside of Pittsburgh at Oakmont Country Club, and after a dry, hot start, shower and storm chances will increase for the weekend. Oakmont Country Club is hosting the tournament for a record 10th time this year, with the last one in 2016 when Dustin Johnson won.

The USGA issued a statement to Channel 11, saying, “The USGA is aware of the congestion experienced yesterday moving fans across the pedestrian bridge over the turnpike, and has made operational adjustments to ease movements between the East and West sides of the course.”

The U.S. Open is a difficult test, but capturing this edition is downright impossible if you don't have good fortune.

Robert Diaz bounced back from an opening 85 with a much-improved 73 in round two. His first round featured two triple bogeys, including one on hole 9, where he reached the greenside bunker in two but needed five more shots to hole out. Diaz lost nearly three strokes off the tee and another 2.75 strokes to the field in that opening round.

DeChambeau shot 7-over 77 in the second round and became the first defending champion to miss the cut since 2020.

With several big events slated for 2026, including the NFL draft, World Cup and MLB All-Star Game, Gov. Shapiro said it gives visitors a chance to experience Pennsylvania and hopefully want to come back.
