A Taliban government official says Pakistan’s airstrikes on eastern Afghanistan killed 46 people, mostly women and children.

Pakistan air strikes in an eastern border region of Afghanistan killed 46 civilians, the Taliban government said Wednesday, whilst a Pakistan security official said the bombardment had targeted "terrorist hideouts".

Pakistan’s latest air strikes in Afghanistan’s Paktika province have left 46 civilians dead, the majority of whom were women and children, sparking outrage and condemnation from the Taliban government.
