Officials have issued a tsunami alert in Russia after the region was hit by back-to-back three powerful Earthquakes earlier today. Scroll down to know safety measures you can follow to stay safe.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a warning for Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula after two quakes struck in the sea nearby on Sunday. The larger quake with a magnitude of 7.4 was at a depth of 12 miles and was 89 miles east of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, which has a population of 180,000.

After powerful earth tremors in the Pacific Ocean, residents of several settlements in Kamchatka had been advised to climb to elevations 30-40 metres high or move at least 2-3 kilometres away from the coast because of the tsunami threat,
