AccuWeather is predicting 2025 could be a year with "volatile hurricanes" and warns storms could rapidly intensify shortly before making landfall. Wind gusts dramatically increased fire activity on Tuesday afternoon March 25. This resulted in greater visible fire intensity and smoke.

The First Alert Weather Team is tracking more storms on the way Monday for parts of the area before temperatures rise to near-record highs.

Monday is a First Alert Weather Day due to a squall line moving in early Monday afternoon and into the early evening. The Storm Prediction Center has placed South Georgia under an Enhanced Risk (3 out of 5).
