Jose Antonio Rivera Lynch IV was declared deceased after the Navy carried out a 45-hour search in the Timor Sea for the missing sailor.

A sailor who went missing during a training exercise onboard the USS George Washington has been identified by the U.S. Navy as Airman Jose Antonio Rivera Lynch IV.

The carrier initiated search-and-rescue procedures after receiving reports of a possible sailor overboard, the Navy said.
