The media mogul, who cut a deal to sell Paramount - including CBS - to Skydance earlier this year, weighed in on the topic on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Gayle King and CBS Mornings executive producer Shawna Thomas appeared on a panel moderated by Lisa Ling. King and Thomas briefly addressed the controversial interview they had with Ta-Nehisi Coates earlier this month.

This led Dokoupil—who is Jewish—to compare Coates point of view to that of an “extremist.” Though co-host Gayle King was present during the interview, she was mostly silent during its most heated moments.

The comments come a couple of weeks after the controversial interview with Coates, who came on the show to speak about his new book, 'The Message.'
