Mayor Aftab Pureval condemned Park's comments on Thursday. "I disagree with Victoria Parks’ comments. No one deserves to be a victim of violent crime," Pureval said.

A detective stated the men coordinated the assault, while their attorneys claim they were not the aggressors and intervened to break up a fight. A third individual, Dekyra Vernon, is also charged with felonious assault and aggravated riot for allegedly striking a woman during the incident.
