Florida football has hired former Atlanta Falcons executive Nick Polk and analytics guru Benjamin Elsner to front office positions

In its ongoing effort to restructure its front office as revenue sharing looms, the University of Florida announced Monday it has hired longtime Atlanta Falcons executive Nick Polk as the Gator football team’s general manager. The school also is hiring analytics specialist Benjamin Elsner as its director of football strategy.

Nick Polk spent 17 seasons as Director of Football Operations for the Atlanta Falcons (2004-21). In his time with Atlanta behind the scenes, Polk would see the Falcons reach the playoffs seven times, including the infamous Super Bowl LI debacle against the New England Patriots.

The Florida Gators football program announced the hiring of two front office positions on Monday afternoon, an area of focus this offseason for Billy Napier. Atlanta Falcons Director of Football Operations Nick Polk will join UF as Associate Athletic Director/Football General Manager while Benjamin Elsner will serve as the Director of Football Strategy.

Polk will lead the Gators football organization in roster management, contracts, revenue share and other important off-field aspects of this era of the sport alongside Ben Elsner, who was recently hired as the Gators' director of football strategy,
