The 2016 Holden VF Commodore Series II Sportwagon arrives with fresh styling, a new engine and other features across the Evoke, SV6, SS and Calais trims.

According to Holden, the five-star rating will also be applied to two different models expected to go on sale in March 2009, Special Edition VE Commodore International Sedan and Sportwagon.

For this drive, Holden loaned me a Calais-V Sportwagon, not the most powerful Commodore available, but one well-equipped with all the bells and whistles.

The Commodore SportWagon pictured here is the more premium Calais variant, while the Ute is the SS V model, likely sporting the Chevy SS’s 415hp 6.2-liter LS3 V8.
