Houston's 2024 Pro Bowl running back is now expected to miss most, if not all, of training camp. His status for the season opener at the Los Angeles Rams is now in doubt. Mixon starred in his debut year for the Texans with 1,325 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns. It's now unclear when he'll find the end zone again in a Texans uniform.

A lingering ankle issue will sideline Houston Texans star Joe Mixon for most of the preseason. The running back will undergo further evaluation before the regular season kicks off.

The Texans are hopeful that running back Joe Mixon can be back for the team's regular season opener against the LA Rams on Sept. 7.
