Some programs and apps automatically running in the background of Windows 10 and 11 machines don't actually need to be on if you don't actively use them.

Sometimes itâ s useful to make sure a Bash shell script doesnâ t run too frequently. Hereâ s a neat way to set a time limit that must expire before the script can run again.

You can easily stop programs from running at startup on your Mac computer using your System Preferences.

It pops up about 20 percent of the time, and is accompanied by a box to check “stop script.” My computer is frozen until the message goes away (a minute or so).
