President Trump and First Lady Melania met with families in the Texas Hill Country and praised first responders amid tense talks on flood disaster response.

KERR COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - President Donald Trump travelled to Kerrville on Friday to survey the destruction left behind by deadly flooding over the Fourth of July Weekend and to meet with local officials on what comes next for Kerr County.

During his first weekend back in the White House, Trump again visited North Carolina to scope out Helene damage and toured the aftermath of devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. But he also used those trips to sharply criticize the Biden administration and California officials.

While walking in her family's neighborhood in Kerrville, Sarah Woolsey felt the devastation in the community after the deadly Fourth of July floods destroyed homes, totaled cars and left debris all over the block.

A simple grey fence has blossomed into a colorful memorial as the community of Kerrville finds a way to honor and remember those lost in the tragic Hill Country flooding.
