Now, I know that Marvel has released the animated movies The Invincible Iron Man, Ultimate Avengers 1 & 2, Planet Hulk, and Hulk Vs., but none of those were based on actual Marvel Comics storylines.
Without a doubt, the MCU ultimately did this interconnected Marvel universe better too. But the often crudely animated ‘90s Marvel cartoons all walked so the MCU could run.
There have been a few good cartoons over the years (The 90's Spider-Man and X-Men cartoons, for example), but the brutalness of the majority of Marvel's cartoon work greatly out weighs the positives.
