One of the coolest byproducts of Minecraft’s open architecture is that it allows users to access Minecraft’s Java source code to literally create anything that they can imagine.
They're in a week-long Minecraft Modding and Java coding camp called ID Tech. They've been creating and testing Minecraft Mods, making tools for this virtual world.
Java also has better redstone, gets Minecraft's April Fools updates, and tends to receive experimental content sooner due to being a single platform to code for.
In Minecraft ‘s case, the split between Java and Bedrock is due to the original PC-only version of the game being built in the Java programming language.
