But as Peter Capaldi prepares to launch his first album with indie label Last Night From Glasgow, it's hard not to hear the echoes of the music he played in the city in the late 70s and early 80s.

It was a debut that was a long time coming. While at Glasgow School of Art in the early Eighties, Capaldi was in a band, The Dreamboys. “Bizarro punk” was Capaldi’s estimation at the time.

Capaldi, who played the 12th doctor, will take the stage with his band at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival more than 40 years after he quit the Glasgow post-punk group The Dreamboys.
