RUIDOSO, N.M. — Flooding is once again hitting the Ruidoso area, closing roads and wiping away at least one home. A flash flood warning is in effect until 3:30 p.m. Lindsey Tharpe posted video of a home floating away on Paradise Canyon at Hart.
According to an emergency alert and videos obtained by Action 7 News, flash flooding was ongoing in areas near Ruidoso. Emergency officials say flooding is imminent in Friedenbloom, Ruidoso Downs, and Glencoe.
The flash flood warning is in effect until 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 24, and includes Ruidoso, Ruidoso Downs and Hollywood, New Mexico.

KTSM 9 News on MSN5 people rescued after flash flooding in Ruidoso: According to a spokesperson with the Village of Ruidoso, five people were rescued after the recent flooding in the area on Thursday, July 24. The spokesperson said the flash flooding that came down from one of the burn scars is currently starting to recede and they are now starting to clean up the debris.
Main Street was closed from Second North Loop to the county line. Mechem Drive at Brady was also closed from Sudderth Drive to Alonzo Way. And Gavilan Canyon was closed from Meander to Sutton Drive. All roads were reopened before 11 p.m. Tuesday according to the Village of Ruidoso Facebook page.
