Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type attack drones and cruise missiles, targeting Western Ukraine, according to the Air Force of Ukraine, as well as statements from mayors and heads of local regional military administrations.

Russia targeted Ukraine with a record 728 drones overnight, shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to send more defensive weapons to Kyiv and aimed unusually direct criticism at Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Russian forces have launched more than 500 aerial weapons at Ukraine overnight, Kyiv said on June 29, describing the attack as the biggest air strike on the country since the war began.
