The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office has issued an evacuation order for a part of Santa Cruz County. The NWS has also issued a flash flood warning for parts of the county.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office placed several unincorporated low-lying areas under an evacuation warning Wednesday due to heavy rains and likely flooding from the arriving storm.

A storm is expected to bring strong wind and heavy rain to Santa Cruz County from late afternoon Wednesday through Friday morning.

Some residents along the San Lorenzo River in Santa Cruz County defied the evacuation orders that have since been lifted for the area on Thursday.

High winds and heavy rains impacted Santa Cruz County as a high surf warning has been issued through Saturday morning.
