This week, almost 30 World War II veterans have touched down in Normandy, France, for the trip of a lifetime. Many of the veterans on the trip range in age from 98 to 104, and some were even on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. They were taken on this trip by Minnesota based company Grandpad, Delta Airlines and the Best Defense Foundation.

Veterans gathered Friday in Normandy to mark the 81st anniversary of the D-Day landings — a pivotal moment of World War II that eventually led to the collapse of Adolf Hitler's regime.
