International audiences may recognize Alon Aboutboul as Dr. Leonid Pavel in The Dark Knight Rises (2012), a Russian physicist kidnapped by Bane in the final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The film grossed over $1 billion globally.

Israeli actor Alon Aboutboul, known in the U.S. for his roles on the FX series Snowfall and the movies Rambo III, Munich and The Dark Knight Rises, has died. He was 60. Aboutboul died after collapsing on HaBonim Beach near Tel Aviv on Tuesday morning, his manager Mark Teitelbaum told The Hollywood Reporter .

Aboutboul, who also appeared in Rambo III, Munich, London Has Fallen, and Body of LIes, died unexpectedly in Tel Aviv.
