The New York Mets are doing something in 2025 that great teams always do: winning close games late.Monday night was just the latest example, as New York rallied in the bottom of the ninth to break a 3-3 tie and won the game on a one-out sacrifice fly from superstar first baseman Pete Alonso.

New York (27-15) did most of its damage against the Pirates' (14-28) bullpen, starting with Juan Soto's RBI groundout and Pete Alonso's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.
