Honda has recalled 720,810 cars for cracked pumps that can cause fuel leaks. This is the second major recall from Honda this month.

Nearly 720,000 Honda vehicles recalled due to potentially defective fuel pumps. Honda says the pumps could leak and pose a potential fire hazard.

Honda is recalling about 720,000 vehicles due to a malfunctioning fuel pump, according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. The recall of 720,810 vehicles includes models from the 2023-2024 Accord and Accord Hybrid, the 2025 Civic Hybrid and the 2023-2025 CR-V Hybrid.

Honda said there are no reports of injuries or deaths related to the issue. It is the second major recall this month at Honda, after 1.7 million vehicles were found to have potential steering issues.

The recall affects 2025 Honda Civics, 2025 Honda Civic Hybrids, 2023 and 2024 Honda Accords, and Honda CR-V Hybrids from 2023 through 2025.

According to Honda, a defective fuel pump part can cause a fuel leak, fuel smell while idling or driving, and the risk of fire, crash, or injury.

On Kelley Blue Book's list of the top 25 best-selling cars of 2023, three belong to Honda (HMC) . The popular CR-V crossover is in sixth place, the compact Civic is in 16th, and the Accord is in 17th.

Honda will contact the affected car owners individually while customers can check using their 17-character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Customers who may have bought the fuel pump assembly from authorised Honda Cars dealerships over the counter can also get their cars checked

Honda Cars India said on Friday that it is recalling an additional 2,204 units to repair defective fuel pumps in certain models, bringing the total to 92,672 units.

Following the Honda recall over a steering issue earlier this year, the carmaker has announced measures to find and replace faulty fuel pumps in some of its most popular models.
