According to talkSPORT, Wilson has agreed personal terms with West Ham United after productive talks in recent days. The 33-year-old striker was also pursued by clubs in Saudi Arabia and the United States and while Championship sides like Leeds United and Burnley showed some interest too.
However, the report claims Isak, who is not on their pre-season tour to Singapore, wants to go to Anfield, with a valuation of around £150million – and that Newcastle are having to look at alternatives, which includes cashing in on the outstanding Sweden international and ploughing the proceeds back into the squad.
Newcastle United has struggled to land its top targets this summer and could now lose Alexander Isak to a Premier League rival.
The Gunners are on to their second game of their Far Eastern venture, having beaten Milan 1–0 at the Singapore National Stadium in the week. Newcastle, meanwhile, were thumped 4–0 at Celtic Park last weekend after starting their summer with a 4–0 victory over the lowly Carlisle United.
However, it was Arsenal's 15-year-old academy products, midfielder Max Downman and centre-back Marli Salmon, who also impressed with their cameos and were the main subject of Arteta's post-match press conference, with the mood surrounding the club fairly postive.
