Nothing, because following the massive success of 2024's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, GamesWorkshop has announced that 'Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3' is officially in development in partnership with Saber Interactive and their parent company Focus Entertainment.

Space Marine 3 could feature diverse enemies like Genestealer Cults, Death Guard, Orks, Iron Warriors, Chaos Knights, Drukhari, World Eaters, and Necrons. The game could introduce new boss battles and challenges with factions like the World Eaters and the Necrons.

Space Marine 3 is in development. Saber Interactive confirmed the news with a press release and a somewhat silly teaser featuring the star of the last two games standing still in rain near the new game’s logo.

"We’re pleased to announce that the development for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 has officially begun at Focus Entertainment, Saber Interactive and Games Workshop," reads a statement. "We’ll share updates on this new title when the time is right. For now, our focus remains on delivering the best possible experience for Space Marine 2 players."

Despite the third game entering development, Saber Interactive is keen to make sure that players of the second game are not left behind. While Space Marine 3 starts its journey to release, Space Marine 2 will still be supported with a host of post-launch content.
