A peace deal between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda aimed at ending decades of conflict in eastern DRC paves the way for "a new era of stability", Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi said Monday.

The foreign ministers for Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo signed a U.S.-brokered peace deal to end the bloodiest conflict of the 21st century. The peace agreement, signed on Friday by Rwandan Foreign Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe and Congolese Foreign Minister Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner,

The agreement marks a breakthrough in talks and intends to attract billions of dollars of Western investment to a region rich in cobalt, copper, lithium and other minerals.
