New details regarding the fatal shooting of Minnesota-born U.S. Border Patrol agent David Maland have been revealed in court. The 44-year-old was fatally shot while conducting a traffic stop in Vermont on Jan. 20. He was from the Blue Earth area and graduated from Fairmont High School.
The FBI says it arrested a 21-year-old Washington state woman in the fatal shooting of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Vermont.
David C. Maland was conducting the traffic stop on Interstate 91, about 20 miles from the Canadian border when "an exchange of gunfire occurred," FBI said.
A procession was held earlier in the day in Burlington, Vermont, before the 44-year-old Blue Earth, Minnesota native was escorted to his return flight home.
