NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A major winter storm that slammed Texas and blanketed the northern Gulf Coast with record-breaking snow moved east Wednesday, spreading heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain across parts of the Florida Panhandle, Georgia and eastern Carolinas.
But this snowstorm wasn’t just a New Orleans phenomenon. Across the Gulf Coast, cities saw unprecedented snow totals. In Florida, Milton (north of Pensacola) recorded 8.8 inches, the most snow the state has ever seen, smashing the previous record of 4.4 inches back in 1954.
Universal Orlando Resort’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval will let the good times roll in Universal Studios Florida from Feb. 1 through March 30, 2025, with delicious food, a nightly Mardi Gras parade with colorful floats, hundreds of street performers and, of course, lots of chances to catch beads.
Snow totals in Louisiana have broken records. Parts of Florida, Texas and Georgia have also accumulated several inches of snow.
