The FDNY's iconic "Calendar of Heroes" -- known for splashing hot firefighters, EMTs and paramedics across its pages -- is finally returning in 2026 after a three-year hiatus.

Carroll County Public Schools Superintendent Cynthia McCabe has proposed a calendar for the 2025-2026 school year. The proposed first day of school is Sept. 2, 2025, the Tuesday after Labor Day.

The city Department of Education academic calendar includes some two-dozen days off between the first day of school on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, and the last day of classes on Friday, June 26, 2026.
