The “American Idol” winner, 41, was slated to sing “America the Beautiful” at the ceremony inside the US Capitol with the accompaniment of the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.

Underwood was one of many artists slated to perform at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration following his victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election last November. Trump and his running mate, former Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, each took their oaths of office during a swearing-in ceremony in Washington, D.C., on Monday, Jan. 20.
