The Chicago Sky got off to a poor start in the 2025 WNBA season with a blowout loss to the Indiana Fever on opening weekend. They returned home for their second contest against the New York Liberty on Thursday and got dismantled once again.

After making only four 3-pointers on 19 percent shooting in their season-opening win Saturday, the Liberty broke a league record Thursday for most 3-pointers by a team in a game. Kennedy Burke drained the Liberty’s 19th 3-pointer in the fourth quarter. As a team, they shot 55.9 percent from downtown.

Angel Reese and the Sky lost by 60 points combined in their first two games against the Fever and Dream, making WNBA history.

The Chicago Sky are one of the most popular teams in the WNBA because of emerging stars like Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso. They added to their star power by drafting TCU guard Hailey Van Lith in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

The Sky's Angel Reese was 0-for-8 shooting and scored two points. It was the first time since 2021 that she failed to make at least one basket.
