Three former Philadelphia homicide detectives were acquitted Thursday of lying under oath about a murder investigation that put an innocent man in prison for decades, but two of them were convicted of making false statements about DNA evidence in the case.

The two other defendants, former homicide detectives Manuel Santiago and Frank Jastrzembski, were found guilty of charges stemming from their knowledge of DNA evidence.

A jury reached a mixed verdict on Thursday in the perjury trial of three retired Philadelphia detectives. The men were accused of lying about DNA evidence under oath during the retrial of Anthony Wright in 2016.
