Most prognosticators were correct — Aaron Rodgers won't reinvent the wheel with his jersey number choice as the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. He's going back to his familiar No. 8, a number donned the last two years with the New York Jets.

Aaron Rodgers will wear No. 8 for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rodgers wore No. 12 throughout his entire Green Bay Packers career, but he switched to No. 8, which he wore in college at Cal, when he landed with the Jets in 2023. No. 12 was unavailable in New York with that jersey retired in honor of Super Bowl III-winning quarterback Joe Namath.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a one-year deal, and the four-time MVP has already landed on a jersey number with his new team.
