The Sharks traded goalie Vitek Vanecek and center Nico Sturm to the Florida Panthers in separate deals on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. In the Vanecek deal, the Sharks received AHL forward Patrick Giles. For Sturm, the Sharks got back a 2026 fourth-round pick while also sending a 2027 seventh-round selection to the Panthers.

Following the Sharks’ game against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, the right-shot Zetterlund had 17 goals and 36 points, fourth most on the team. Last season, Zetterlund led the Sharks with 24 goals.

The Ottawa Senators have made an effort to strengthen their team by adding Fabian Zetterlund from the San Jose Sharks at the trade deadline. Zetterlund led the Sharks in scoring last year when he netted 24 goals and he has followed up by scoring 17 goals this season.
